FIRE!!!

we had an exciting morning today, this is who our neighbor's dryer invited to visit (there were actually 4 trucks, but i couldn't get them all in the picture). evidently there was a "minor" fire in our neighbors apartment, starting with either their dryer or the electric connections. the damage was just in their apartment, and i'm not sure how extensive it is, there was some water damage to the apartment on the other side of theirs, but we just got smoke, so we'll be okay.
you can see our red door (and our scarecrow, which is evidently more of a scare-dog, accoding to our neighbors with a little dog), and the neighbor's open door, and melted blinds in the upstairs window. there was a lot of smoke pouring out of the back of the house, and a fair amount coming from that window, though the wind blew it back pretty quickly. i know the family that lives there has a place to stay and i know the red cross was there to help them within an hour of the fire, but like i said, i'm not sure how bad the damage is.
like i said before, we were pretty lucky, the smoke wasn't too bad, and it'll probably air out of our house by tonight, we were a little cold for a half hour or so til we were allowed to go in for diapers (a couple of us were pretty soggy too), blankets, and shoes. it was quite an adventure!

Hmm.. maybe too much lint in the trap? Makes you want to check all possible hazards, huh. Glad you are all fine. Love you!

Smoke is the pits. I hope you get everything aired out. I hope the neighbors didn't lose everything. Not fun at all.
